Clare Agnew, Community Services Director, Retires

On behalf of Council and the City of Morden, we would like to take this opportunity to officially announce the retirement of our Director of Community Services, Clare Agnew. We thank Clare for her 14 years of dedicated service to our organization.

Clare has played an integral part in planning and organizing countless events in our community through her role as Director of Community Services. Clare has achieved many successes in promoting Morden as a leader in National, Provincial and local sporting events. Several examples of this would be taking the lead on having Morden act as the host community for the Esso Cup, U18’s National Championship, many Provincial championships through hockey, baseball, Manitoba Games, Olympic Torch Day, MS walks and our July 1st beach blast just to name a few. Clare has also played an important role in the additions and upgrades to the Access Event Centre, helping to ensure that it shines as a facility our community and region can be proud of. She has advocated tirelessly for the parks and recreational community in Morden, for our beautiful Lake Minnewasta, beach and expanding campground.

Clare has been a valued member of Morden’s senior management team throughout her tenure, coming up with new and creative ideas for projects and events and working diligently alongside her staff to ensure successful outcomes. She will be missed.

We wish Clare well in her retirement and sincerely thank her for her commitment, dedication and hard work, not only within our organization, but to the city of Morden.
