Adult Swimming Lessons

Lessons offered:

Preschool: Ages 3-5 years. The Swim for Life Preschool program gives children a head start on learning to swim. These 3–5-year-old preschoolers learn to be comfortable in the water and have fun. They develop a foundation of water skills and a healthy respect for the water before getting in too deep. Water Smart® education is taught in all Preschool levels.

Swimmer 1-6: Ages 5+, to register your child for level 1, they must be 5 years of age by the last day of class. No exceptions will be made.

In the Swim for Life Swimmer Program, children must pass one level to move on to the next and can retake a level as many times as needed. The Swim for Life Swimmer progressions challenges school-aged children 5 years and older to learn safe entries, deep water support, underwater skills, and swimming strokes. These Swimmer levels also develop everlasting habits for healthy, active living. Water Smart® education is part of every level.

Rookie (7): Ages 8-12 years. Rookie Patrol features the development of front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke over 50 m each, timed 100 m swims, and 350 m workouts. A work-hard/play-hard approach develops swimming strength and efficiency with emphasis on personal responsibility and Water Smart® behaviour.

Ranger (8): Ages 8-12 years. Ranger Patrol features the development of front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke over 75 m each, a 100 m lifesaving medley, and timed 200 m swims.

Star (9):  Ages 8-12 years. Star Patrol demands good physical conditioning and lifesaving judgment. Participants develop lifesaving and first aid skills; further, refine front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke over 100 m each; and complete 600 m workouts and 300 m timed swims.

Adult Swimmer: Ages 18+. The Adult Swimmer Program is for both beginners who may be just starting out and for swimmers who just want help with their strokes. Participants set their own goals to develop confidence and smooth recognizable strokes.
